Description
Have you ever wondered if the Beaumont Police Department has a canine unit? Are you curious how your water is kept clean and safe for drinking? Do you have questions about our Fire Department, our roads, or even what Beaumont is doing to be, well? less boring? That?s right. We see you on Twitter, ? #BEAUMONT IS BORING.?
Well, folks, as your local chamber, we are dedicated to furthering your quality of life in this community. And where we have been told time and time again that Beaumont is ?Boremont,? we are ready to put an end to it. To recognize all the great things that Beaumont has to offer, we created Beaumont CHAMPIONS - a free, 6-session program that is designed to engage and inform citizens about what?s really happening in this city.
Participants will be asked to attend all 6 sessions to receive a certificate at the end of the program. As a Champion, you will have the chance to engage with your community, learn more about the city, and be titled a Beaumont Champion who shares their voice on social media to reverse the negative media that our city doesn?t deserve to receive.
If you want to learn about the Police Department?s fully functioning K-9 unit, or meet the firemen who volunteer, make excellent gumbo at Gumbofest, and protect you and me, this is your chance to sign up. Be a Beaumont Champion and help others see that Beaumont is Booming.
Our opening night on city government will take place on January 24th from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Spindletop Museum. Our following events include:
* Monday, January 31 - Education & Workforce
* Monday, February 7 - Public Safety
* Monday, February 28 - City Services & Infrastructure
* Monday, March 7 - Recreation, Culture & Entertainment
* Monday, March 14 - Graduation
