    Job Description
    NONPROFIT SEEKS VOLUNTEER TREASURER
     
    The Benign Essential Blepharospasm Research Foundation (BEBRF), a 501 (c)(3) national, voluntary health organization based in Beaumont, is seeking a treasurer to serve on a pro bono basis. The BEBRF mission is to promote research into the cause, treatment, and potential cure of benign essential blepharospasm and other disorders of the facial musculature and to provide support and education for those suffering with the condition.
     
    KEY RESPONSIBILITES:*  Monitor proper management of cash and investments, assist in preparation of annual budget, interact with accountants, auditors, and help to keep Board of Directors informed on financial matters.*
     
    TIME REQUIREMENTS:* Two to four hours a month workload is typical. However, more may be required in preparation for, and participation in, the BEBRF Board meetings, which usually take place twice a year. As a Board member, the Treasurer serves for a term of 1 year, which may be renewed annually.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:* Understanding of financial accounting for nonprofit
    organizations; knowledge of record keeping, accounting systems, and financial
    reports; ability and willingness to work with Executive Director, accountant, and
    auditors, as necessary.
