Golden Triangle Days in Austin
The Golden Triangle is made up of three main communities, Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange. Before 2007, each community would hold an event in Austin during the session of the Texas State Legislature, which meets bi-annually, to lobby for support and change in each community. The events were small and not heavily attended by members of the state senate.
The birth of Golden Triangle Days in Austin happened in 2007 when the leadership from the three Chambers joined together as a unified group. This bold and effective bond created a larger and stronger presence in Austin to lobby for regional issues and change. It has proven to be a smart decision and one that continues to be utilized in every way possible.
Golden Triangle Days in Austin is a highly anticipated event. The last event in 2011 was a huge success. The three-day long program consisted of several joint meetings with Golden Triangle leaders and state delegation. During the meetings, items that were needed for positive impact in the region were discussed. There was also an entertainment portion that was meant to highlight the best of what Southeast Texas has to offer. This drew the largest crowd than any other community’s event in Austin than ever before. It was all in part to the strong relationship the Chamber has with the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Orange Chamber of Commerce. The next Golden Triangle Days in Austin will be held in early spring of 2013. The three Chambers are working hard together to top the event in 2011!
