Public Service Candidate Workshop
The Public Service Candidate Workshop is held in February in the format of a two hour session and is offered to the community at no cost. This unique leadership program gives participants an exceptional opportunity to be introduced to, and gain a working knowledge of, the local political process. This program provides some education on relevant issues and campaign methods typically encountered or used in political campaigns.
Topics that are discussed include:
- What it means to be a public official
- Filing requirements
- Laws on campaigns
- Requirements of open meetings
- Working with the media
- Campaign finance and fundraising
- Business community perspective
There is no cost for the sessions or program materials.
