Description
Ever wish you had the opportunity to sit down over a cup of coffee with the "Boss" and hear his/her story of success and failure? SETX YPO invites you to our morning Breakfast with the Boss event with featured speaker: Alex Rupp with Jack Brooks Regional Airport
Alex Rupp graduated from Nederland High School then graduated Lamar University in 2005 with dual degrees in Business and Finance. His wife of 10 years, Tara, is also a Lamar alum. They have two children, Stone 9 years old and Evelyn 6 years old. Stone is an aspiring young athlete who plays basketball with Little Dribblers and baseball with Nederland Little League. Evelyn, who is already full of artistic expression, attends dance classes and tumbling.
Alex began his career with Jefferson County in 2006 at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport, and for the last 10 years he has had the opportunity to serve as Airport Manager. During his service at the Airport, he successfully manages the substantial airport budget and capital projects, leads employees, and works with local businesses to foster the public-private business development, all to the benefit of local taxpayers. Alex and the Airport staff are also integral partners during natural disasters and subsequent relief efforts; collaborating with volunteers, first responders, and local, State, and Federal governmental entities and officials.
Over the years, Alex has demonstrated his passion for his chosen community by actively serving and volunteering in many different local organizations to assist the area in becoming the thriving community it is today. Currently he serves on the Nederland Parks and Recreation board, Nederland Planning and Zoning Board and has been an active member in local and community events, as well as being a past member of the Nederland Charter Review Board.
Alex is an active member and past President of the Mid-County Noon Optimist and a graduate from Leadership Southeast Texas (LSET). Alex’s hobbies include spending time with his family, gardening with his wife, woodworking projects, and bird hunting. He enjoys coaching and supporting both his son and daughter in their school events, games, and extracurricular activities
