    About This Role:

    The Office of Financial Services is inviting applications for the position of Financial Reporting Accountant. The Office of Financial Services, housed in the Division of Finance and Operations, handles matters related to University accounting, cashiering, investment, payroll, procurement, and student business services.

    Position Summary:

    Performs professional accounting work. Reconciles accounts, prepares journal entries, assists other departments, prepares special financial reports, assists Property Coordinator in maintaining accurate fixed assets and inventory lists and performs other duties as assigned. USAS monitoring and security coordinator backup. Works independently or in a group under general supervision of the Controller.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed – Minimum Qualifications 

    To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:
    A minimum of two years of accounting experience working in a group environment.

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university

    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices
    • Knowledge of policies and procedures directly affecting work unit
    • Knowledge of fund and budgetary accounting
    • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems (Banner is a plus)
    • Knowledge of the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) 
    • Skills in analyzing financial data
    • Skills in preparing detailed financial reports
    • Skills in using computers, calculators, and other related office equipment
    • Skills in written and verbal communication
    •  Ability to perform numerical detailed work with speed and accuracy
    • Ability to prepare financial and accounting reports in a systematic and legible manner
    • Ability to understand and carry out complicated oral and/or written instructions
    • Ability to maintain effective work relations and to provide quality service to all levels of personnel and a collaborative approach to work
    • Ability to use good judgment and capacity to balance competing goals and to multitask
    Salary: $41,739 - $48,000
