    About This Role:
    Lamar University invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer. Lamar University is among the fastest growing Texas colleges and universities.

    The Chief Financial Officer serves as a member of the executive leadership team for Lamar University and reports directly to the President. The CFO oversees seven financial services departments, the university’s operating budget that exceeds $260M, and shared business services while also supporting innovation in academic programs.

    What You’ll Do – Position Duties
    As a member of our team, you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:
    The CFO is responsible for providing executive management for the business operation and ensuring the fiscal integrity of the university. These responsibilities include:
    • Strategic financial planning, budgeting, shared business services, controller office, financial controls and compliance, post-award administration, payroll services, procurement and payment services, student business services and treasury.
    • Collaborative reporting and communications with the Texas State University System, as well as other state and federal agencies will be a key responsibility in this position.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed:
    To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Degree in a business or financially related field, and experience demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities to be successful in the role.
    • Proven and substantive senior level administrative experience with a record of proven accomplishments as an administrator at educational institution or equivalent.
    Salary: Commensurate
