The Leadership Development Division of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce is actively working to recruit bright, energetic and enthusiastic members of our community to participate in the Mentorship Program. This initiative is designed to pair professionals who have leadership potential with more seasoned and established professionals in a mentee-mentorship relationship in order to expand the mentee’s understanding of the inner workings of our community. We hope to encourage and enable a wider degree of community involvement and leadership from mentees. Past mentors have included former Mayors, current CEOs of local companies, and respected community leaders.
The mentorship program runs from October to May, during which the mentor and mentee will be expected to meet at least once a month for an hour or more. Additionally, monthly opportunities will be provided for community field trips that involve behind the scenes access to important community organizations. The obligations of this program end with graduation in May, but the relationship between the mentor and mentee often lasts for years providing a valuable source of insight and counsel to the mentee.
