You’re invited to come celebrate with the most fun and festive Mardi Gras revelers in Texas at the 28th Annual Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas celebration in Downtown Beaumont, Event Centre and Great Lawn ! This event supports 14 local non-profit organization to help citizens of our community.
Thursday – February 20 through Sunday – February 23, 2020. This year’s theme is “Puttin on the Glitz”. Glittering beads and shiny trinkets, will shower the streets and festival attendees as Southeast Texas comes together for a weekend of unparalleled celebration in the spirit of carnival!!
Don’t miss out on the featured attraction area for the kids. Kid Zone, is a free area to children with your favorite carnival games & free prizes. Hole in one, duck pond, basketball, bean bag toss, everyone is a winner! Play in the bounce house are catch a photo opt with one of the many costume characters strolling in Kid Zone. There’s plenty to entertain the little ones. Open Saturday and Sunday 12 noon to 6 pm.
Parades – large and small. Thursday, Courir de Mardi Gras, a ole fashion Cajun parade, come chase a chicken and listen to Zydeco music. Friday, Valero Krewe of Krewes with 30 floats and riders tossing beads. The Majestic Krewe of Aurora Grand Parade sponsored by Total, with large New Orleans style floats tossing beads, cups, doubloons for all to catch. Sunday Motor Parade, a public entry parade with over 55 entries featuring anything that rolls. The Royalty March inside the festival grounds highlights area Krewe Royalty, Kings and Queens, beautiful elaborate Mardi Gras costumes and headdresses. Be sure not to miss the Umbrella Brigade Parade, we provide you an umbrella - you decorate it and show up for second line march, strutting around the Event Centre, it’s a whole lot of purple, green and gold. Umbrellas are judged and cash prizes awarded. The Munchkin Parade, free to enter just bring your little ones in their favorite costume, wagon or power wheels and let them experience Mardi Gras first hand with a parade just for them!
Be sure to visit the carnival. State fair quality rides and midway games. One-price wristbands for any one-day. The carnival is located outside the festival grounds and no admission fee required.
Music …Concerts offering a music genre for all taste! Famous Texas country artist, traditional Zydeco, relive the 90’s on Saturday with Vanilla Ice and Tone Loc, enjoy sounds of Carnival Latino and don’t miss some of Southeast Texas best local artist ... Continuous entertainment on four stages just keeps the talent coming!
Mardi Gras wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the original Mardi Gras Store, 3830 Hwy 365, Port Arthur. Souvenirs, beads, trinkets, party décor, stuffed animals, jewelry and more! It’s the only place to get your official 2020 theme T-shirt and poster artwork. While you’re there ask about joining a Krewe and riding on a float, the courteous and experienced Mardi Gras staff will be glad to provide information.Enjoy Cajun food with plenty of choices available from over 40 food vendors, be it a smoked turkey legs, fried Oreos, gumbo, crawfish or funnel cake, rest assured you will find it at Mardi Gras Southeast Texas. Want to shop? Looking to find that special Mardi Gras keepsake, mask, bead or hat? Look no further it will be at one of our 30 arts and crafts booths.
